Join us for our newest addition to the Reading Retreat lineup in Highlands, North Carolina! Your weekend away begins on Friday with a welcome reception, gathering with new friends, and a book hand-picked to your interests. With plenty of comfy reading spots and a beautiful view, you are free to spend your time however you wish. Before heading home on Sunday, we will meet with a guest author to discuss their book over brunch at a local restaurant. From Friday evening to Sunday brunch, each of your meals will be provided, along with coffee, cocktails, and snacks throughout each day. Nightcaps, tea service, and a little something for the sweet tooth will fortify your reading into the night. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Details
Welcome to our second annual Reading Retreat to Pawleys Island! You’ll receive a book selected especially for you at check-in, and before you arrive, we will send you a copy of our guest author’s chosen book. We’ll welcome you with cocktails and snacks, but feel free to be as antisocial as you’d like. We’ll be setting out breakfast and brewing the coffee in the morning, delivering a lunch basket to your door midday, and gathering for a meal and dinner table conversation in the evening. After checkout on Sunday, we’ll all meet up for brunch with the author, getting to hear the story behind the story that we’ve all read in common.
❋ The HouseWe’ll be staying at the storied Pelican Inn on Pawleys Island. The Inn is ours for the weekend, with lots of wide porches, rocking chairs, and hammocks.
❋ The SurroundingsWith the beach just across the dunes and the marsh in our backyard, you are free to fill your weekend however you wish.
❋ The FoodLeave the cooking to us. We’ve got you covered for each meal, including a low-country boil planned for Saturday night.
❋ The BooksAlong with the chosen author’s selected book, we will provide you with a book hand-picked for you at check-in.
